JAKARTA CONVENTION & EXHIBITION BUREAU is the culmination of the Jakarta Provincial’s ambition to become the premier business events destination in Indonesia and in Asia. Launched in 1994 during the General Assembly of the 33rd. International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) in Indonesia, JCNEB then called JCB was established by a team effort of the Jakarta’s meeting industry (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, Exhibitions/Events) and the Jakarta Provincial Government who felt the important contribution that business events can bring to the city’s economic growth, international reputation, and the quality of business environment under the Jakarta Tourism Promotion Foundation’s Decree No. JP/SK/0494/94 and Governor Instruction No. 342 Year 1995.
As a not-for-profit destination marketing organization, it was formed and collectively funded by the Jakarta Provincial Government, the Ministry of Tourism then the Ministry of Tourism, Post & Telecommunications, the Jakarta Hotels Association-JHA (formerly Casa Grande and JIHA) – an association of 4 – 5 star hotels, Convention and Exhibition Centers, leading Professional Convention Organizers, Airlines, leading Ground Transportation Company and supported by Indonesia’s related meeting industry boards and associations. Jakarta Convention Bureau is an independent, professionally managed organization with the daily operation run by an Executive Director/CEO as a marketing arm of the Jakarta Provincial Tourism & Culture Office specifically concentrating on the marketing and Promotion of Jakarta Business Events.
In 2005 when it reached the tenth year anniversary and on the request of the exhibition industry in Indonesia, the bureau was expanded to become the Jakarta Convention & Exhibition Bureau (JCNEB) taking exhibition business officially under its arm to market and promote.
Since 2010, JCNEB initiated the three pillars of cooperation partnerships namely Working Partners, Business Partners and Promotion / Corporate Partners. This initiative was strongly implemented to assist the funding of its marketing and promotional campaign, especially in bidding activities.

Jakarta’s suppliers are securely aware that JCNEB, being a destination marketer and promoter, is WITH THEM – NOT TO COMPETE, but TO HELP them secure those events they are bidding for. It is a synergy well played with sensitivity and professionalism.
